It's 2014!

More than any other holiday, besides Halloween, I love New Year's the most. There's just something about everything starting over that brings me out of my constant state of depression at least for a little while.


I love everything about this grand event. The spectacular celebrations, the fireworks and dazzling lights, spending that precious moment where it all goes back to zero with those you really love or want to be around. It all seems shinier, brighter and the entire world is lit with a warm glow.

Okay, I lied. I don't love EVERYTHING. My, oh my do I hate New Year's Resolutions. While I've had a couple successful ones in the past, there's one that's been on my list since I was freaking 15!!! And that is: Finish An ENTIRE Chapstick (or generic lip balm) Before Starting Another.

The frustration of it all reduces me to tears

  Those things always get lost, or stolen (for some horrifying reason unbeknownst to me. Why would somebody want something that is definitely not meant to be shared? It's not shampoo! I hope they chopped the piece that touched my mouth off first. Think of all the germs! But I digress.....) or get left behind and destroyed.  What I need is a patented Lip Balm Lockdown security program! I'll put that on my resolution list too, I guess.

Anybody else out there have any resolutions that they just can't beat? I hope I'm not alone.
